Choir
MVCS Choir invites you to come enjoy music and dessert on Friday, February 26th at Mesilla Park Community Church from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Desserts with coffe and hot tea while you listen to your favorite hits (50's, 60's, & 70's) sung by our talented singers from MVCS. Cost is $25/couple. There will be a silent auction held throughout the evening for delightful desserts to take home with you.
Middle School Choir is made up of 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Students learn to develop the instrument we all carry with us, our voice. Students sing a variety of 3-part music. Ear training and sight-reading music are emphasized. The choir performs twice a semester in Chapel and at the Christmas and Spring concerts. Concerts give us the opportunity to showcase what we’ve learned throughout the year. We sing joyfully to the Lord!
High School Concert Choir is composed of 9th-12th grade boys and girls. This is a non-audition class, and anyone who wants to be in Choir is welcome. Students sing a variety of musical styles from classical to contemporary Christian. Tone quality, intonation and choral blend are emphasized. Music theory is incorporated into sight-reading skills. The choir performs monthly in Chapel or other school events and at the Christmas and Spring Concerts.
In 2009 we have been invited to join with the Onate HS Troubadour Choir for two selections in their Spring Concert. The Troubadour Choir is the 2009 New Mexico Music Educator’s Association Honor Choir. It is quite an honor to sing with New Mexico’s #1 high school choir.
